Information about ShipCom's Smart Network Platform (SNP)

 

Scalability of SNP  The Smart Network Platform is scalable from a small “back pack“ type unit with only two “talk paths”, to a large system capable of handling communications for an entire city, county, or region.  Back pack units, 10 to 30 lbs., for individual, small action support Mobile units up to 100 lbs., for UAV, etc. Ground based mobile for Vans, Trucks, Humvees, etc. Permanent, fixed, or large vehicle mounted for large city or regional area. Mobile versions of the Smart Network Platform make it possible to support first responder communications at the emergency site and to provide additional radio communications in an emergency area until the local infrastructure can be restored. In an emergency, a SNP equipped mobile van, equipped with appropriate radio equipment and a satellite link, could be quickly deployed to restore or augment first responder communications in an affected area.   Limited support of cellular phones and land line telephone service can also be provided.   High speed data links enable the provision of internet access to the remote location that can be used for various tasks such as sending real time streaming video back to a central command point.
